Sooo…How does this work?
Great question! It’s kind of a new way of doing things, but we like to think it’s a simpler, better, and more affordable way. It works like this: you pick out the products you’d like from our website and select how long you’d like to have them from the drop-down list; StorkSupply will deliver the products to your home within 3-5 days (in most cases, at least!); once your lease period is up, we’ll come and take the gear away.
Isn’t used baby gear kinda gross?
It definitely can be. Oh, lordy can it ever be gross. But that’s OK! That just means the stuff was well loved by an adorable little human. The good news for you is that we clean every little goober off of it before we lease it to anyone else. How do we do that? We use a commercial grade steam cleaner (like the ones hospitals use), baby-safe cleaners, and other specialized tools to make sure everything is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Learn more here.
Do you lease new stuff?
Yes! On average, 1 out of every 4 items you rent from us is new. Of course, that means that some of the gear you’ll get from us is new and some is used. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee the stuff you're getting will be one or the other. We like that part of the business though because it means we're reducing waste and it helps us make the offering more affordable for everyone.
What if I break it or lose it?
We know kids can be a little rough on this stuff, so we expect to see a little bit of wear and tear. If we see more than the usual amount of damage or you happen to lose any StorkSupply gear, we’ll likely have to charge an additional fee. It looks like I pay all at once. That seems weird.
You’ve got a point, it is a little odd for a rental business - we get it. We also get that cash flow is an important consideration when you’re weighing your baby gear options, so we’re working on a new monthly payment solution and hope to roll that out within the next few months. In the meantime, we hope our wallet-friendly rental rates help with that whole cash flow thing.
Where are all the fun colours?
There’s a ton of cool, colourful gear out there but we’re all about non-trendy, gender-neutral colours around here. We like to think the products and styles we offer will fit in well with just about anyone’s decor and lifestyle. It also means one less decision for you!
How far in advance can I place my order?
As far as you’d like! The only catch is you have to place your order (and make a payment) to select a delivery date. If you’d like to reserve some equipment for a later date but don’t want to pay the full fee ahead of time, fill out our Advanced Reservation Form (here).
Do you buy used baby gear?
Nope, sorry. We get all of our gear directly from manufacturers or their Canadian distribution partners.
